Design the Lucky 13 Poster
1 October, 2012 1:30pmUPDATE! The poster competition is now closed. Thank you so much to everybody who entered, we had an overwhelming response and were blown away by the overall quality of designs we received. Our creative director Adrian Spooner is busy scratching his head and trying to pick between them. If you win, you'll be contacted very shortly!
Thanks again and we can't wait to announce the winning design.
Illustrators, graphic designers, painters (and any other sort of artist we've missed out) - we want you! This year for the first time ever, we teamed up with Creative Review and Handsome Frank illustration agency to create 12 stunning film posters for the Virgin Media Shorts shortlist, to be proudly displayed in Picturehouse cinemas around the country. Feast your eyes on this lot (click for larger version):

Now we need you to design the poster for PJ, Tiny Planet Explorer, the Lucky 13th film nudged into the shortlist by your social media votes. If you haven't already seen the film, give it a watch and come up with something that represents it. Any style goes so don't be shy, show us what you've got.
Just tweet us a link to your poster (you can upload it to your own website or blog or a fileshare site, or just upload it directly through twitter) along with #VMShortsPoster and it'll automatically be entered into the competition.
Our very own Adrian Spooner, Creative Director of Virgin Media, will judge the posters and if you win, we'll get in touch and ask you to send us the high res file for printing. Your poster needs to:
- Portrait
- 594 x 841mm (A1 size)
- It must include the name of the film (PJ, Tiny Planet Explorer) and the name of the film maker (PJ Liguori)
- If you win, the file must be supplied as a hi res print ready PDF, photoshop scans supply 300dpi or 150 megs. There should be at least a 5mm bleed all round the artwork at full size and it should be in CMYK format
Any questions, drop us a line.
So what's in it for you?
- The winning design will be displayed in Picturehouse cinemas around the UK for a year
- It will feature in Creative Review online
- We'll even give it pride of place at the Shorts awards ceremony at BFI Southbank in November
- We'll give you a shiny new iPad
Like the sound of all that? Get your poster designs in before 15th October. Good luck! Watch PJ, Tiny Planet Explorer and get inspired.
