About ScarTissueFilms

I am Richard D. Kinsella, the Director of Manchester based Production Company, Scar Tissue Films. We are currently producing a slate of shorts with which to raise awareness of our company. Our latest short, Diva, premiered in the Short Film Corner at Cannes and has managed to secure a distribution deal. End of the Tour is an exciting and dramatic piece based on a script by Pia that deals with the reality that many soldiers face when they return home. It features great performances from Marc Baylis, Claire Ford and Nathan Head and was expertly shot by Zac Halberd.

Nicely performed especially Marc Baylis. Production design was great. Script a little bit cliche - could've done with expanding / bit less exposition.

I'm glad that Marc is getting the praise that he deserves. He's a great actor and a great guy to have on the set. It's great that people with talent like him help out us small independent filmmakers who don't have a pot to wee in!

Brilliant Marc - well done - you deserve all the praise you're getting. This film is harrowing out of proportion with its length - a good idea well-executed.

This is fantastic. For me it's head and shoulders above the competition.

There are films on here with bigger budgets and higher production values, but none of them have the energy, the frenetic pace or the tension of this.

I think you've done a brilliant job to pack so much emotion into such a short film. The acting is fantastic as well.

I know it comes down to taste, but this has to be in the final surely?

The title " end of the tour" sure does capture the feeling behind this movie. It is well acted, keeps you in suspense and all the actors are great, the gun man as well as the guy who protects the girl.. the expressions on his face...are very well done.

It's about time the British funding bodies started giving money to people like this, who can make films people would actually pay to see.

toatlly agre with the above comment on 'not being a U or a PG' ive been looking at loads of shorts on here and, to me, its as if no-one has looked at what the competition is actually asking for. it wants something that can play before any film, be creative and interesting but at the same time people are not paying to see your short, they are paying for the main attraction. this being the case, it also has to be something that you can choose to connect with but if you chat through it with your friends then you havent really missed much. i actually like this short and feel it would play better in a 15 minute time frame (more build up needed) but feel as if I AM having a gun held against my head to watch it and i dont like that. check out my short 'On The Money' and be honest with me but i feel as if it fills the specs better.

    Good Luck fellows

I've read the very specific rules regarding classification.

There is no offensive language in the film, no violence and the suicide is not imitable by minors.

They never asked for a U rating, but for PG which stands for Parental Guidance.

Jaws was a PG and that featured terrifying scenes of violence.

It could well be that the panel are looking for cuddly films to show their 2 year old children, but it doesn't say anywhere in the rules that you can't deal with adult topics.

    Rick.

very good film, i do think it will pass as a PG rating, there is no gore, sex, drug/alcohol abuse or severe violence. there is some slight violent actions, but no more than you would find in any daytime soap. all in all a perfect short film! i really enjoyed watching it
