"ateday" you thought wrong, this competition is for anybody over 16. End of story.
I don't know anything about Phil and Olly but I know I haven't heard of them so in that sense they are undiscovered to me. I'd also like to point out that a successful professional would be foolish to enter this competition because the film makers have to sign away the rights to their films for nothing more than a bit of exposure. Hence there is no money in it for them and after winning the competition they will have a hard time selling their film to anyone. My point being anyone entering a film must feel they have nothing to loose and feel they need some exposure to help boost their budding career. Believe it or not there are a lot of professionals out there who struggle to put food on the table. Don't kid yourself into thinking it's easy.
As for the film I thought it was fantastic, probably one of the best on this site. The acting is especially good.
I liked this short. dash of originality, essence of mystery/unknown, and a pinch of genius, i think everything in this film works.
only problem I have is I would have liked to have known more about 'Phil and Olly'. I always want to learn from great inspiration so would have been nice to see a profile, and some response to the feedback you have received so far. The film itself is incredible.

"ateday", this is proof that the written word can be easily misinterpreted. I never said you didn't like the film. I simply expressed my view of the film after my "Rant" because I hadn't talked about the film in my "Rant". I in no way thought you disliked this film. You'll also notice that I said that Phil and Olly were undiscovered to ME. Not that they were undiscovered because I hadn't heard of them. Have you heard of them? How well known do you have to be to be described as discovered?
I also believe you misunderstood my comment about it not being easy. I was NOT referring to film making I was referring to Finding Work as a film maker. As I'm sure you're aware, even if you manage to make a successful film it doesn't mean you're going to get more work.
Do you think someone who fancies a go at film making deserves the publicity of winning this competition more than someone who has been working hard at it for years? I may be wrong but you and probably a few others seem to feel that this film has an unfair advantage because it LOOKS like it was shot with expensive kit. There are a few polished expensive looking films on here but I think you’ll agree not all of them are good. In the end I don’t think it matters what resources you have, if a filmmaker / amateur spends the time working out their story and how to tell it properly then their talent will shine through.
I have to say the name-calling at the end of your last comment is uncalled for. But hey if it makes you feel better call me what ever you like.
PS I hadn’t noticed the Snickers Bar wrapper before Troy02 mentioned it. I hope it doesn’t cause any issues.

Best film in the shortlist by a country mile. So, SO glad you guys won it. Will they let you make a feature with the 30K? Cos it's certainly achievable on 16mm (e.g. Clerks, Following, El Mariachi...)
Nice one, guys. You've got IT.
